INCT JOIN WITH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS COLLECTING DATA IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MANATUTO FOR THE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROJECT ON THE GREEN ECONOMY

Dili, May 10–11, 2026 – The National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT), through its National Director of Exact and Natural Sciences, Mr. Valente Ferreira, together with the National and International Principal Investigator, began collecting data at three (3) Administrative Posts in the Municipality of Manatuto.

The main objective is to hold meetings with the President of the Municipal Authority (PAM) of Manatuto and relevant officials, as well as to conduct meetings or interviews, observe, and collect data in three (3) sucos, namely: Kairui Suco, Laleia Administrative Post, Manatuto Municipality; Kribas Suco, Manatuto Administrative Post, Manatuto Municipality; and Laclo Suco, Laclo Administrative Post, Manatuto Municipality. Therefore, to strengthen the Scientific Research on the Green Economy that INCT conducted this year, in collaboration with the National Principal Investigator and the International Investigator from Udayana University in Indonesia, under the research title: “Study for the Development of Irrigation Models for Each Municipality in Timor-Leste,” which will be carried out in six municipalities in Timor-Leste, namely: Manatutu, Aileu, Viqueque, Manufahi, Ainaro, and Dili.

The visit was attended by the National Director of Exact and Natural Sciences at INCT, Mr. Valente Ferreira; a representative from PAM Manatuto, the local authority of the Municipality of Manatuto; the National Principal Investigator, Dr. Benjamin Hoffer Martins, and his team; and the International Principal Investigator, Prof. Dr. They. By Made Trigunasih, Prof. Dr. They. Nyoman Rai, as well as the INCT technical team.
