
Dili, May 9, 2026 – The National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT), through the INCT National Director of Exact and Natural Sciences, Mr. Valente Ferreira, join with the National and International Principal Investigator, held a meeting with the National Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Forestry (MAPPF) and the National Director of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) at the DNPE-MAPPF and DGHU-MOP, Dili, Timor-Leste.


The main objective of the meeting, was to discuss scientific research on the green economy, explore and collect relevant data, such as; topography and spatial planning, from relevant perspectives, in order to strengthen the scientific research on the green economy, that INCT conducted this year, in collaboration with a national researcher and an international researcher from the University of Indonesia. The research, titled “Study for the Development of Irrigation Models by Municipality in Timor-Leste,” will be conducted in six (6) municipalities: Manatutu, Aileu, Viqueque, Manufahi, Ainaro, and Dili.

The meeting was attended by the National Director of Exact and Natural Sciences at INCT, Mr. Valente Ferreira, the National Principal Investigator, Dr. Benjamin Hoffer Martins, and his team; the International Principal Investigator, Prof. Dr. They. By Made Trigunasih and Prof. Dr. They. Nyoman Rai, as well as the National Director of Research and Statistics – MAPPF, Eng., Mr. Cesar da Cruz, the National Director of Irrigation and Water Use Management – MAPPF, Mr. Jacinto V. Felipe Gama, the National Director of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Plant Health – MAPPF, Mr. Lúcio Nuno, the Director General of Land Use and Urban Planning – MOP, Mr. Domingos de J. Sequeira and team, the National Director of Research and Development Planning – MOP, Mr. Santino Barreto and team, and the National Director of Flood Control and Prevention – MOP, Ms. Juliana P. das Neves and team.
