
Dili, May 9, 2026 – The National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT), through INCT’s National Director of Technological Innovation, Ms. Jacinta dos Santos Guterres, join with the National and International Principal Investigator, held a meeting with the National Director of Maritime Transport – MTC, the National Director of Tourism Development, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of APORTIL. IP, the President of the Timor-Leste Tourism Authority (ATTL. IP), the President of the Dili Municipal Authority, and the Director General of Tourism – MTCI, who met in the conference room of the MTC, DGT, APORTIL. IP, ATTL. IP, and PAM Dili.


The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the “Blue Economy” scientific research project, which aims to analyze the development of a sustainable economy in the field of maritime tourism in Timor-Leste, seek information, and collect relevant data through the relevant ministerial channels for research activities, in order to strengthen the scientific research conducted by INCT this year, in collaboration with the National Principal Investigator and the International Researcher from Udayana University in Indonesia, under the research title “International Study on Maritime Tourism Routes in ASEAN,” which will be conducted in three (3) districts, namely: Atauro, Oecusse, and Lautem.

The meeting was attended by the National Director of Technological Innovation at INCT, Ms. Jacinta dos Santos Guterres; National Principal Investigator Dr. Mário Marques and his team; International Principal Investigator Prof. I Nyoman Sunarta and Mr. Moh. Saifulloh, as well as the National Director of Maritime Transport at MTC, Mr. Hélder P. M. da Silva and his team, President of ATTL, I.P., Mr. Virgílho Smith and his team, Chairman of the Board of Directors of APORTIL. IP, Mr. José Oliveira Leong and team, Director General of Tourism – MTCI, Mr. António da Silva and team, Mayor of Dili, Mr. Francisco dos Santos and team.
