INCT HOLDS MEETING WITH RESEARCHERS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TARTU ESTONIA

Dili, 15 June 2026 – The National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT), held a meeting with researchers from the Institute of Genomics at the University of Tartu, Estonia. The meeting was led by the President of the INCT Executive Council, Dr. José Cornélio Guterres, accompanied by 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents of the INCT, Dr. Valentim Ximenes and Dr. Augusto Soares.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for institutional cooperation between Timor-Leste and international experts, with a focus on scientific research and the development of strategic projects. Discussions focused on promoting research and innovation in line with Timor-Leste’s national development priorities and the INCT’s mission to strengthen science and technology in the country.

The meeting was attended by the President of the INCT Executive Council, Dr. José Cornélio Guterres, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents of the INCT, Dr. Valentim Ximenes and Dr. Augusto Soares, as well as Dr. Phillip Endicott and his research team from the University of Tartu.

This initiative reflects INCT’s commitment to establishing international partnerships that contribute to the advancement of scientific research and the sustainable development of Timor-Leste.
